The Tarrazu region of Costa Rica has a climate ideal for growing some of the world’s best coffee. The high altitudes, rich volcanic soil, and cool temperatures create a clean, well balanced bean. Fragrant, smooth and toasty, we’re sure you’ll enjoy this coffee as much as we do.
The majority of Costa Rican coffee comes from Tarrazu, near Volcan Poas, in the Southern Pacific region. It is here that a humid climate, high altitude, and rich volcanic soil contribute to conditions which produce high quality coffee. Currently, CoopeTarrazu has 2,600 members. The coop assists in getting its members technical assistance, low cost loans, low prices for fertilizers. The most important aspect of the cooperative is the economic benefit for the region and the members.
